A freight broker is an individual or company that does not own or operate any transportation equipment. These individuals or companies coordinate transportation services for shippers or receivers. Freight brokers typically have significant expertise in the transportation industry and are able to save their customers money by allowing them to reduce or eliminate their transportation departments.
